Dr. Aembe Bwimana
Dr. Aembe Bwimana, is a Lecturer and Researcher on Peace and Conflict Transformation, Public Governance and (fragile) State building legitimacy at Université Évangélique en Afrique (UEA) at Bukavu, in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
He holds a PhD in Social Sciences from Wageningen University, the Netherlands, and an MSc. in Peacebuilding and Conflict Transformation Studies from Makerere University, Uganda. He wrote several publications on humanitarian governance and the consequences of the state fragility discourse in the DRC’s health sector. Next to that he wrote about the effective reintegration of ex-child soldiers for the peace process in southern Kivu.
Dr. Aembe is the founding president of the “Fondation du Culture de Paix Pour les Grands Lacs” (GLF), and main promotor of the École Pépinière de Paix en RDC (DRC Peace seedbed school in Bukavu).
