Dr Aggée Shyaka Mugabe
Dr Aggée Shyaka Mugabe is a Senior Lecturer/Researcher at the Centre for Conflict Management (CCM) of the University of Rwanda. He holds a PhD in Political & Social Sciences with a focus on Transitional Justice & Peacebuilding from the Université catholique de Louvain, UCL, (2005-2009), Belgium; a Masters in Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution from the University of Natal, Durban, South Africa (2003-2004) and a Bachelor Degree in Communication from the former National University of Rwanda (1996-2001). His PhD thesis examined the scope and limits of transitional justice mechanisms in post-genocide Rwanda, with a particular focus on reparations and reconciliation.
Dr Aggée is currently the Acting Director of the CCM and Founder and Managing Director of the Centre for Governance and Peacebuilding – Great Lakes Region (CGP – GL). His publications focus on transitional justice, peacebuilding & conflict transformation, and reconciliation. His most recent publications are:
